Campers - 2008 rules for Campers and Faculty
AUTHORTITY AT CAMP
- The camp Dean is the representative of the Board of Directors and the camp, and has complete authority over his/her camp session.
- The Dean is responsible to see that discipline is maintained on the camp grounds.
- The Dean may dismiss or exclude anyone who does not obey the camp rules.
LEAVING CAMP GROUNDS
- No camper or faculty will be permitted to leave the camp grounds without permission of the Dean and without signing out.
SCHEDULES AND ACTIVITIES
- Every camper is expected to follow the camp schedule. No one will be excused from classes or any activity of the camp unless permission is given by the Dean or camp Nurse.
CAMPER CARS
- Cars driven to Prairie States by campers will be parked and keys left with the Dean.
DRESS CODE
- With regard to clothing, modesty will prevail. The Dean of the week and/or Dorm Parents will monitor this rule.
BEHAVIOR, MORALITY, ATTITUDE
- Displaying too much affection slows the spiritual and physical development of a Christian at camp and will not be allowed.
- Sexual immorality (Bibically defined) will not be allowed and will be grounds for automatic dismissal of anyone involved with camp (faculty, staff, camper, etc.).
- No member of the faculty, staff or campers will be allowed in the dorm of the opposite sex without the direct approval of the Dean or camp Manager. The exception will be parents or family members helping a camper arriving at or leaving camp. Campers are to stay at least 30 feet from the dorm of the opposite sex.
- The use of possession of alcoholic beverages, drugs or tobacco in any form is prohibited everywhere on the camp grounds.
- No swearing or bad language will be allowed.
- No playing cards, radios, TVs, CDs, tape players, cell phones or pagers are to be used by the campers on camp grounds.
INJURIES AND ILLNESS
- All sickness and injuries must be reported at once to the camp Nurse.
- All medicine (prescription and over-the-counter) must be turned in to the camp Nurse upon arrival at camp.
- Anyone who knows he/she has a contagious or infectious disease will not be permitted to attend or stay at camp.
- State regulations prohibit anyone with poison ivy or similar infectious sores from entering the pool area.
VISITOR POLICY
- All visitors must report to the camp Dean on arrival and sign in.
- Visitors (except parents or guardians) may only visit from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and must attend the services with the campers without disrupting the camp schedule. Visitors will obey all camp rules while on the camp grounds.
CAMP PROPERTY AND EQUIPMENT
- Any willful or intentional damage to camp buildings, property, recreational equipment, etc. will result in replacement of the item by the camper and may result in the camper's dismissal from camp.
- No campers are permitted to go into the wooded area, poy lot, trails or to the creek without faculty supervision.
- No camper or faculty is permitted to go into the corn/bean field at any time. This ground is rented out.
- No food, candy, ice cream or soda is to be taken into the dorms.
- Campers are not permitted to ride on the camp tractors, mowers or other equipment. The only exceptions are the pony- and tractor-pulled wagons, and the golf carts when operated by the Manager or someone he/she appoints.
- The camp bell and public address system may only be used by those assigned by the Dean.
- Recreational equipment (tennis, ping pong, and golf) used by campers and faculty must be checked out and in.
- The recreational building may only be used with faculty supervision in the building.
- No pets will be allowed on camp grounds, other than camp animals.
