Photos - 2007 Junior I

I got wet, real wet this past week at camp, but it wasn't from rain. Although it clouded up several times, we received less than thimble full of rain at Prairie States Camp. I got wet because I challenged the kids to sacrifice $30 collectively of their canteen money on Thursday to give to Teen Mission USA. I told them I would "ride the broom around the room" if they met the $30 goal. When they surpassed $30 they asked me what I would do for $50, and I told them they could push me into the pool. When they passed $50, they asked me what I would do for $100. I told them they could push the entire faculty into the pool. Even though I promised the campers they could push the entire faculty in, I hadn't asked permission from the faculty. Luckily for me they graciously agreed. So on Thursday, a group of thirty 5th and 6th graders sacrificed $126 of their canteen money for missions. Praise God!
We baptized two young people: Kelcie from Paxton and Rachel from Hoopeston. We had several more that came forward at the invitation, whose parents wanted them to be baptized at their home church.
When we can get young people out of their routines and get them to focus on Jesus Christ for one week, great things happen.
