Photos - 2007 Little I

What a fantastic 48 hours of Little Camp I we had! We were expecting 25 to 30 campers, and we wound up with 41, plus some surprise junior counselors as well. On Sunday night, we opened chapel by singing (over the phone) "Happy Birthday" to my sister and mom in Little Rock and Omaha, respectively. My mom sounded tearful when she found out more than 50 people had just sung to her on her 65th birthday!
We had the Reachin', Teachin', Preachin' Hands puppet ministry team from Colorado drop in on us Monday. They had some free time before attending a puppet conference at Olivet Nazarene University and wanted to do a service project. (They found out about the camp through this Web site.) Some of the kids helped out with lunch prep, and they all swept the cafeteria afterwards so each family group would only have to do it once. They took over the first recreation period Monday afternoon and led the kids in a water game. Then they blindfolded the faculty, and the kids had to lead them to a prize. The challenge was that some of the kids were telling the truth, and some of them were lying, so it was hard for the faculty to figure out which way to go.
